DESCRIPTION:WABACon 2017 is now SOLD OUT.\nIf you missed out\, please come along to one of our regular meets\, our end of year meet D-Con or perhaps even WABACon 2018. \n\nJoin us for a celebratory weekend of gaming (Saturday 8th to Sunday 9th April) at the Holiday Inn Perth. We’ll be taking over three of their conference rooms for two days of non-stop gaming as we celebrate WABA’s 10 year anniversary. The event will run from 10:00am Saturday until 2:00am Sunday\, and then from 7:00am Sunday to 5:00pm. This is the first weekend of the WA school holidays and the weekend before Easter\, and it will replace the Mt Claremont meet for April. \nWeekend Tickets: $30 – SOLD OUT\nSpecial accommodation rate: $165 per night – Book here!\nThis will primarily be an open play event\, with some organised games to plan your days around. It’s a great opportunity to play those longer games\, or finally get through that list of shame! Most of all\, it’s an opportunity to spend a weekend surrounded by others who love gaming just as much as you. \nA large portion of the WABA games collection will be available for attendees to use throughout the event. \n\nTickets\nBecause capacity is limited\, WABACon is a tickets-only event and they can only be booked online.\nAt this stage\, tickets will not be available at the door and we do not anticipate one-day only tickets being made available. \nA ticket is $30 and allows access at any time over the weekend. All tickets include a sandwich for lunch provided by the hotel on each day of attendance. \n\nFriends of WABACon\nA huge thank you to the following companies for supporting WABACon. \n\n \nDoor Prizes \nDoor Prizes\nEvery attendee is eligible to win a door prize as long as you are present at the time. These will occur at roughly 12:30PM and 5:30PM on Saturday\, and 1:30PM and 4:30PM on Sunday. The method of drawing is still to be determined. The winner gets to select something from DOOR PRIZE POOL. \nEvery attendee is also entitled to one entry in the door raffle\, for which you do not need to be present to win. Most of all\, it’s an opportunity to spend a weekend surrounded by others who love playing board games as much as you.\nDue to space constraints and the intention to distinguish WABACon from our other events\, tournament games are not the primary focus of the weekend\, although there will be a few special things happening… \n\n \nPandemic Survival \n \nPandemic Survival tournament: 2:00PM Saturday in the Tuart Room \, run by Warren and Andrew. \nBOOK YOUR PLACE HERE! \nPandemic Survival is an “extreme” version of Pandemic where teams of two players compete to save the world. Their goal: to be the first team to find all four cures\, or to be the last team still alive at the end of the game.\nIn this tournament-style version of the game all teams face the same problems: they all draw the same player cards\, Epidemics strike at the same time for all teams\, and every team has the same role cards. A Game Master will call the same Infection cards for everyone. The only difference is the decisions that teams make! Their strategic choices will lead each team in different directions\, and one strategy will pay off in the end and lead to victory. \nThe winning team will a copy of Pandemic Iberia \n\nand Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu \n\nto split\, share or fight over as they wish. \n\n \nDominion Dash \n \nDominion Dash tournament: 4:00PM Saturday in the Tuart Room \, run by Warren and Andrew. \nBOOK YOUR PLACE HERE! \nDominion Dash is Doing Dominion Differently…\nEach player will play four rounds against differing opponents. Standard Dominion rules apply\, plus a new game end condition and a new rule:\n– Players have fifteen minutes to score as many points as they can. A warning will be given at ten minutes.\n– Players will have an equal number of turns in the game they are in.\n– Each player will need a card that costs 2\,3\,4\,5 & 6 in their deck at the end of the time.\nGame Score is calculated by adding up all the victory card points and then subtracting 2/3/4/5/6 for any of these cards not in their deck at the end of the time.\nThis score\, and the cards in your deck\, will then get used to work out your Round Score. \nThe winner will receive a copy of Dominion (Second Edition) Big Box \n\n\, and the runner-up receives a Dominion: Update Pack \n.\n  \n\n \nWits & Wagers \n \nWits & Wagers tournament: 7:00PM Saturday in the Tuart Room \, run by Tim and Ernest. \nBOOK YOUR PLACE HERE! \nYou do not need to know how to play the game\, but sign-up is required with the competition limited to six teams of three or four players. \nWits & Wagers is a trivia game where you don’t need to know the answers in order to win – you can bet on anyone’s answer\, so you can win by making educated guesses\, by playing the odds\, or by knowing the interests of your friends. \nEach member of the winning team (of four) will receive a copy of Wits & Wagers: Epic Geek Edition \n.\n  \n\n \nOne Night Werewolf \n \nOne Night Ultimate Werewolf tournament: 8:45PM Saturday in the Tuart Room \, run by Ernest. \nBOOK YOUR PLACE HERE! \nYou do not need to know how to play the game and sign-up is not required\, but capacity is limited to 24\, so it will be first-in.Werewolves have infiltrated the village – can you find and lynch a werewolf after the antics of one night? You may have a special role to do at night or even switch sides and not even know it! DESCRIPTION:WHERE AND WHEN\nYou are invited to join us in celebrating another great year of our Association’s success\, where there’ll be games galore as well as lots of opportunities to reward our members and supporters. We have enough board-gaming goodness to fill three rooms on Saturday 10 December from 11:00AM to 11:00PM at the Mt Claremont Community Centre\, 107 Montgomery Ave\, Mt Claremont . \n \nCost – Free for Members \nCOST\nEntry is free to WABA members – there will be a list of current members at the door so you can check if your membership is current. \nIf it’s not\, you should hang your head in shame and seek out a Committee member\, who will find you a sign-up form so that you can join… annual membership costs $5 and\, as well as supporting WABA\, means you’re now eligible for free entry to D-Con 2016. \nNon-WABA members pay $5 for entry\, unless it is your first time at a WABA event\, in which case you get to try us out for free. \n\n\n \nDoor Prizes and Raffle \nDOOR PRIZES AND RAFFLE\nEvery attendee is eligible to win a door prize as long as you are present at the time. These will occur at 12:00PM\, 3:00PM\, 5:30PM and 8:30PM\, and are run by a coin flip. \nThe first round is only for non-members and offers an unmissable 50% chance of being out of the running straight off the bat. So\, if you’re a member you have a 100% chance of successfully making it into the second round! Thereafter\, everyone’s in it until there’s only one left standing.\nThe winner gets to select something from THE PRIZE POOL. \nEvery attendee is also entitled to one entry in the raffle prize\, for which you do not need to be present to win but you must leave your name and contact details on the registration sheet (near the door). Four names will be selected randomly from the sheet and contacted according to the information they have left. You can pre-register here. \nThis is a fast-paced\, simultaneous action selection card game where players earn points by capturing chickens with their predators (foxes and rats) or protecting chickens with their guard dog. (Note: You are not obligated to use these\, they are simply provided as a convenience for anyone wishing to use the For Sale/Trade table.) \nAlso\, if you make an offer and you intend to leave before the table is closed\, you should check with the owner to see if your offer will be accepted early\, or leave contact details if you are happy for it to be accepted later. \n\nFlea Market \nFLEA MARKET\n \nThe Committee is trialling a Flea Market as a new idea for our members and other guests at D-Con this year.\nThe Market will run from 5:30 – 6:30 in room 2 (sellers can set up from 5:15) with the following rules: \n• You must be a WABA member to sell items;\n• All items (including bundled items) must be priced at $20 or less;\n• Members may sell anything they want to\, game-related or not;\n• Sellers must be present at the market to sell their items. \nWABA will also be selling off some items in the market\, and will gratefully accept game-related donations to be sold in the market. \nWe will be evaluating how successful and popular this is and thereafter consider running it as a regular event every year. \n\n\n  \nDinner\n \nDinner \n\nYou may pre-purchase dinner provided by the previous owners of café. For $10\, the options are: \n\nGreen curry chicken with rice\nMongolian beef with rice\n\nplus a can of drink (Sprite\, Fanta\, Coke Zero). \nYou must register your order with Amy by 5:00PM. Amy will be available to collect dinner orders just after the 12:00PM and 3:00PM prize draws\, and again just prior to the 5:00PM cut-off. She will be wearing a red vest\, and will be distinguishable from committee members Andrew\, Ian\, Shay\, Tim and Warren (who will also be wearing red vests) in that her name is Amy and nobody else’s is. \nDrinks will also be available for purchase from WABA throughout the day.
